Speaking to the press on Monday, October 6, Kalasinga claimed that violence and hooliganism have escalated in Chwele/Kabuchai ward, from which both he and National Assembly speaker Moses Wetang’ula hail.
According to the MP, the unrest is allegedly being orchestrated by a specific political party.

He further alleged that a deputy party leader publicly confessed to inciting violence during a delegates’ forum held at the home of a county official, yet no legal action has been taken against her.
Did Wetang’ula threaten Majimbo Kalasinga?
Kalasinga accused Wetang’ula of making threatening remarks in vernacular during a meeting with FORD Kenya delegates at his Kanduyi residence.
“He said, ‘In this by-election, Majimbo Kalasinga, in this by-election, we shall rig elections after amevuka ng’ambo.’ I don’t know if he meant crossing to heaven or to Uganda. My party leader, you cannot get away with this. It must be explained,” he stated.
He called on Inspector General Douglas Kanja to urgently retrieve and interpret the video clips of the alleged remarks and publicly clarify whether Kalasinga’s safety is at risk.

“He brought me so low that, according to him, I poorly perform on the floor of the House. I have respected you so much, and I still do. I kindly ask you to respect me. I was elected by the people of Kabuchai for a five-year term. Let the people decide who they want, but I will be on the ballot. We are not going to buy fear on November 27,” Kalasinga said.
Highlighting his contributions in parliament, Kalasinga cited his opposition to the Finance Bills of 2023 and 2024 and his resistance to the leasing of Nzoia Sugar Company, which he claims was handed over for 30 years without public disclosure of the contract.
He stated that questioning the bills was seen as disrespectful. Majimbo recounted his commitment to FORD Kenya since 1992, hinting at a bid for the party’s deputy leader position.
“I’ve fought many battles within this party because I refuse to align with values I don’t believe in. I’m a diehard member of FORD Kenya—I’ve been loyal since 1992, and I’m not leaving. If they want me gone, let them throw me out. But let me be clear: once I win the 2027 elections, I’m coming for the party leader position. Wetang’ula, I’m not backing down. The future of this party belongs to those who stand firm, not those who silence dissent,” he added.
Kalasinga also criticised the conduct of law enforcement, alleging that FORD Kenya candidates have been assaulted and detained, with some incidents confirmed by local police officers.
He warned that if no action is taken, he is prepared to escalate the matter to the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA).
