Popular fashion and beauty influencer Adair Mendes Dutra Junior, known to many on social media as Junior Dutra, sadly passed away recently.

Dutra was well known for documenting his lifestyle and fashion taste to his over 100,000 followers on Instagram.
What happened to Junior Dutra?
According to PEOPLE, Dutra’s passing occurred barely a month after he sat down for a tell-all interview with Brazilian media outlet Feed TV, where he claimed he had suffered an infection following a cosmetic procedure performed by celebrity surgeon Fernando Garbi in March.
In the interview, Dutra revealed that he had sought treatment at a local hospital for the infection.
He allgedly also shared videos of the procedure, along with video clips showing his swollen face.
At the time, Dutra stated that his condition was keenly being being monitored by a dermatologist
Dutra’s friend, Gean Souza, opened up about his final days, revealing that the influencer became seriously ill on the day that he passed away, October 3.
“He became ill, felt very short of breath, and was taken to the nearest emergency room at a public hospital,” Souza said.
What did Fernando Garbi say about the allegations?
He had allegedly filed a complaint accusing the surgeon of multiple offences, among them practising medicine without proper authorisation, false representation, and causing serious bodily harm.
In response, Garbi’s lawyers released a statement on Instagram strongly denying any link between the operation and Dutra’s passing.
The statement warned that:
“All necessary legal actions, both civil and criminal, will be pursued against those responsible for spreading falsehoods and defamation towards Doctor Fernando.”
Garbi later reiterated that Dutra’s supposed infection had no connection to the cosmetic procedure he performed in March, dismissing the allegations as an attempt to gain publicity.
