Fans, fellow celebrities and now politicians have taken to social media to express their grief and share memories of the young artiste whose life was cut short being involved in an accident.

Among those who mourned Shalkido is nominated Senator Karen Nyamu, who revealed that she had been quietly planning to support the late musician before his untimely death.

How was Karen Nyamu planning to support Shalkido?

Taking to Instagram, Nyamu disclosed that she had purchased two brand-new motorbikes, one meant for Shalkido and the other for another youth in need.

She shared photos of the bikes, expressing her sadness that Shalkido never got to receive his.

“I bought these for Shalkido. One for him and another for another needy youth. He never asked for a bike, he just needed help,” Nyamu wrote.

Her post showed that she had taken note of the young musician’s situation and had intended to empower him.

It is worth mentioning that Shalkido had earlier received a motorbike from comedian Eric Omondi, and had even asked former nominated senator Millicent Omanga for another bike to boost his efforts to get back on his feet and possibly join the boda boda business.

What happened to Shalkido?

  • Shalkido was hospitalised at the Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital on Sunday, October 5, after being involved in a hit-and-run accident.
  • Oga Obinna updated fans on his condition, revealing that Shalkido had suffered a serious head injury, internal bleeding in the brain, swelling, and a broken left thigh. On Monday, October 6, doctors declared Shalkido brain dead, and only shortly after, at around 6:30 pm, he was pronounced dead.
  • A video showing Shalkido enjoying life with Obinna roughly 30 minutes before the accident later surfaced online, leaving Kenyans heartbroken.
