Etale sent a tweet Tuesday evening, October 7, updating Kenyans on the wellness of Raila, who has, in the recent past, been a subject of scrutiny as the public strives to find out about his whereabouts.
What Raila told Kenyans spreading fake news about him
Through Etale, Raila lamented about the quarters propagating unfounded theories about his well-being.
“I am seeing people spreading so much propaganda online, let’s keep praying for them,” the ODM official quoted Raila as saying.
But even with Etale’s update, Raila’s whereabouts remained a secret.
The official added that his boss had sent greetings to Kenyans, promising to be back in the country soon.
“He has sent me to convey his greetings to all of you and says he will be back in a few days,” Etale said.
Etale’s message of reassurance to Raila’s fanatics comes days after the former prime minister’s secretariat sparked a pandemonium with a statement on the well-being of the ODM leader.
How Raila’s team went after Kalonzo, Gachagua
Through Raila’s spokesperson, Dennis Onyango, the secretariat dismissed the rife speculation on the former’s whereabouts, with indications being peddled that he was sick and had been airlifted outside the country for specialised treatment.
The statement indicated that Raila was well, and out of the country on routine business, far from medical reasons.
But the statement did not just end at the clarification of Raila’s physical wellness.
It went hard-hitting on the prominent figures of the united opposition who were accused of bankrolling misinformation for political expediency.
Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, DCP’s Rigathi Gachagua and Eugene Wamalwa of DAP-Kenya were castigated in the statement.
They were accused of banking on misinformation to “bully Raila to provide a back for them to ride on in their struggle against President William Ruto.”
The opposition leaders mentioned in the offensive would not let it lie.

How Kalonzo, Gachagua answered Raila
Kalonzo countered the statement with another hard-hitting one.
Firstly, he clarified that wishing ill against Raila has never been on his mind. Kalonzo said, “I harbour no ill will whatsoever toward Raila. We share a long, public history of cooperation and mutual respect. Any suggestion that I wish harm upon Raila is malicious, reckless, and utterly false.”
He would then call out Raila for supposedly blaming others for the “waning” of his influence.
Kalonzo told Raila that his association with President William Ruto is to blame for the hostility of Kenyans toward him.
The Wiper leader sought to clear his name, dismissing the accusations of deliberately sponsoring propaganda against Raila to score politically.
On his part, Gachagua said he was among those wishing Raila a long life so that he could defeat him and Ruto in the 2027 vote.
