Kenyans have been thrown into mourning after a young lady from Kapsowar, Elgeyo Marakwet county, died.

Facebook user Sandra Kiprono’s death is uniquely painful, as she passed away two years after predicting her demise.

Kiprono took the internet by storm on October 9, 2023, after she wrote down and shared her funeral budget online, sparking mixed reactions among social media users who shared their opinions.

How much did Sandra Kiprono set aside?

Exactly two years later, Kiprono met her fate on the same date she posted the disturbing message.

“Sandra, you were so joyful, and I am still in disbelief that you are no more, my sister. That screenshot was your birthday wish this year 😭😭. I remember you celebrated this birthday like never before. You never knew it was your last birthday, but you enjoyed it, right? I hope so.

The other post is the time you wanted to give up to the extent you asked God to grant you eternal rest. In your comment, you said you were tired and needed rest. Did you know this was going to happen? I am actually in tears, and my heart is so heavy 😭😭. Ten months after the post you made when you almost gave up… you are no longer with us? Death, you really know how to choose to hurt us 💔💔. She was so lively and full of hope for the future,” a friend shared.

In the budget Kiprono shared, she had set aside at least KSh 20,000 for her family to use after her burial.

Her total budget was slightly above KSh 100,000, covering all expenses, from mortuary fees to the hearse and food.

Sandra Kiprono’s message to politicians

“And right now, while I’m still alive, I’m suffering, I don’t even have KSh 200. When I die, I just ask to be cremated, my mum won’t lack firewood and a matchstick.

And to the ‘honourable’ ones who are used to contributing KSh 2,000 at funerals, don’t bother coming to mine,” she added in her post.

Kiprono allegedly died after a short illness, leaving her family, friends, and fellow Kenyans devastated.

“She was not only the youth chairperson at St. Augustine Kiplabai Station but also active in the choir,” another post added.

Many took to social media to mourn the young lady, expressing their grief and sharing in the family’s pain.

Requiem mass of Kibabii University lecturer

In another story, emotions ran high at the requiem mass of a Kibabii University lecturer who had predicted her own death.

Francisca Ihongoyi Kimwama, unfortunately, met her fate 24 hours after she spoke about her death in a prayer.

Tears freely flowed as mourners recounted what a lovely and peaceful woman she was, adding that she loved to pray.
