A sense of disbelief and sorrow has gripped friends and family following the sudden death of Roselyne Oyaro, a Kenyan woman who tragically passed away mid-flight while returning to the United States.

Rose, as she was fondly known, had been in Kenya briefly visiting loved ones before her journey back.

How Roselyne Oyaro died

Radio presenter Victor Nyaata revealed that Rose departed Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) aboard a connecting flight through Amsterdam.

Details indicate that the first leg of the young woman’s journey, from Nairobi to Amsterdam, went without incident.

However, tragedy struck on the second flight from Amsterdam to the US aboard KLM, when she reportedly began experiencing shortness of breath.

According to reports shared by those close to her, the crew declared a medical emergency, prompting the plane to be diverted to Canada.

Sadly, by the time the aircraft landed, Rose had passed away. To those who knew her, Rose was more than a friend, she was family.

“She was one of those people I always counted on,” Nyaata shared. Anytime I needed something from Amazon, she would purchase and bring it for me. She always made time for our shows whenever she was around. Her passing feels deeply personal,” he eulogised.

Friends describe Roselyne Oyaro as dependable

Rose was remembered as kind-hearted, dependable, and full of life. Friends describe her as someone whose laughter could light up a room and whose generosity touched many.

An alumnus of Sironga Girls High School, lass of 2009, Rose’s death comes at a time when life seemed to be unfolding beautifully for her.
