What caused Waruku accident?
He noted that the journey had started well, but upon reaching the Waruku area, tragedy struck.
“We were approaching a hill, and the driver began speeding. He tried all he could, but lost control of the bus. All I heard after that was that all these people are dead,” Samuli narrated.
The man sustained minor injuries, including a cut on his forehead, but was treated and discharged to heal at home.
A resident of Kawangware, who witnessed the accident, stated that the area is prone to such incidents and called on the relevant authorities to close the road.
“This is the second accident in a short while. There was also a matatu that crashed in the same way,” he stated.
James Kihuri, a doctor at Riversite Medical Centre, said that the majority of those with serious injuries were admitted with severe multiple fractures, while some had head injuries.
“We had to manage and align them, stop the bleeding, and also manage their pain. We dressed the wounds of those who needed it, as some were bleeding excessively,” Kihuri said.
