Lais Dognini could not hold back her happiness after marrying her handsome husband, Jackson, a former priest.
Lais shares truth about her love life
Dognini shared the beautiful wedding photos online as her fans joined in celebrating her union.
She also took the opportunity to clarify a few things, noting that after their story went viral, there had been a lot of misreporting.
“Yes, it went viral, and with that came some misinterpretations. So amidst all the news, it’s good to clear things up and share some details,” she captioned the Instagram post.
The gorgeous woman explained that although she met her now-husband at a Carmelite convent, she had already left the convent three years earlier.
How long had Jackson, Lais known each other?
Jackson, who had begun questioning his vocation, had also left the seminary and abandoned the priesthood.
“I had nothing to do with him leaving the seminary. It was all about him. He reached out to me sharing his doubts over his calling, but I never influenced his decision after he had spent five years in the seminary,” Lais said.
The couple had known each other for over six years, but when Lais was a missionary, they never even said “hi” to each other.
At the time, Lais and Jackson both wanted to pursue religious life, as a nun and a priest, respectively, and followed their callings.
Jackson reaches out to Lais
“Right after I left, he sent me a message saying he heard I’d gone to the convent, that he was sorry I was leaving, and that he was praying for me. He intended to make me change my mind and return to Carmel, but little did he know that I didn’t even want to leave 🥲

A few months later, we subscribed to my Catholic library together because I didn’t even have the money to pay the monthly subscription at that time,” Lais narrated.
It was later that Jackson began seeking answers concerning his vocation, and after sessions of prayer, he left his calling.
“In April of last year, he left for good, and we made plans to attend Mass together. Since then, we haven’t been apart, and soon after, we started dating, got engaged, and married,” Lais concluded.
