Authorities in Valencia, Spain, have launched an investigation after the skeletal remains of a man believed to have died 15 years ago were discovered in his apartment following a storm-related flood.

The deceased, identified locally as Antonio, a retired builder and father of two, had reportedly lived alone in the flat since separating from his wife.
How was Antonio’s body discovered?
According to The Sun, emergency services were alerted when an elderly resident reported water leaking into her flat from the unit above.
Firefighters responding to the call entered the top-floor apartment, where they found human remains in advanced stages of decomposition.
Part of the skeleton was located in the bedroom, while other bones were discovered in the living room—believed to have been scattered by pigeons nesting in the dilapidated property.
Forensic officers left the premises with white bags containing the human remains.
A police source remarked that had it not been for the storm, the remains might have remained undiscovered for years to come.
When was Antonio last seen?
The neighbours said they last saw him in 2010 and assumed he had moved to a retirement home.
Residents described the apartment as being in a severe state of neglect, with broken windows and signs of long-term abandonment.
Meanwhile, his continued pension payments and automated utility bills kept suspicions at bay, as all expenses were paid from his bank account.
The body was removed and taken to the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Valencia, where a post-mortem examination was scheduled to determine the cause and time of death.
Decomposing body of woman found after 1 week
Elsewhere, a woman, identified as Anbrielle Davis, was found dead inside her home, with her three-year-old daughter the only other person present.
The child, unaware of her mother’s death, believed she was simply sleeping and continued her daily routine for an entire week.
Neighbors grew concerned after noticing a foul odour and realising they hadn’t seen Davis for several days, which was unusual.
They alerted authorities, who discovered the woman’s body showing signs of decomposition. Reports indicated that Davis died from health complications.
Miraculously, the child was found unharmed and is now in the care of child protection services.
Woman found in mortuary after hours of searching
Previously, TUKO.co.ke reported that a woman, Mary Akinyi, who went to work in Kileleshwa, failed to return, sparking hours of searching by her family.

Her body was later discovered at the Kenyatta National Hospital mortuary following a tragic accident.
Akinyi was among the victims of the Waruku crash that left at least four people dead and several others were injured.
