Kenyan musician Wahu Kagwi has touched the hearts of many after showcasing the heartbreaking story of baby Jason, who has been hospitalised for over a year.

In the video, the little boy is seen lying in a hospital bed, surrounded by medical equipment that helps him breathe and survive.
According to Wahu, Jason has been admitted for nearly a year as he suffers from a condition known as spinal muscular atrophy (SMA).
SMA is a rare disorder that weakens muscles, making it impossible for him to move or breathe without assistance.
Jason’s caregiver, who appeared beside him in the clip, explained that his condition stems from a missing gene that can be treated using a special drug only available in China or Malaysia.
She noted that the treatment would help Jason regain muscle control, allowing him to breathe and move independently.
However, the drug comes at a steep cost of KSh 25 million, and the family is currently KSh 2.3 million short of reaching their goal.
What did Wahu ask Kenyans to do?
Wahu used her platform to rally Kenyans to come together and raise the remaining funds to give baby Jason a fighting chance at life.
“We are urgently raising KSh 2.3 million by the end of October to help baby Jason live a happy and normal life. Let’s do what we can. Every contribution, no matter how small, brings Jason closer to healing,” she said.
