A Mombasa woman has puzzled social media users after narrating how hiring an elderly woman as a househelp ended up being a shocking ordeal.

Identified as Sal on TikTok, the employer revealed that the elderly woman, who claimed her name was Mama Jane, had been working for her for about four months, not knowing she had ulterior motives.
In a video on TikTok, Sal said it turned out that the elderly househelp was a thief who even had an accomplice, as shown on her CCTV.
The employer narrated that the househelp stole three phones, a power bank, AirPods, wires and her few other valuables, which she packed in a bag and took to the waiting accomplice.
” She had an accomplice who was waiting for her downstairs. She took everything and she put it in a bag, and gave it to the accomplice. We saw it on the CCTV,” she said.
Mombasa woman shares how househelp was nabbed
Sal said that when they tracked the phone number, they discovered she was at Mwembe Tayari, but she had already escaped by the time they arrived at the place.
“Do not hire her,” she warned.
In a follow-up video, she revealed that the elderly househelp had finally been arrested.
“We found the old lady; she is currently waiting in jail. And with the police, she will take us to the place where she took the stolen items, and try to get the stolen items back,” she said.

Others beseeched Sal to forgive the elderly woman because she was old and seemed frail, especially while at the police station.
