The ODM party leader died at 80 while in India, where he had been undergoing treatment, accompanied by his daughter and personal doctor.

The president is yet to address the nation concerning his death, even as more tributes to the veteran politician being mourned as a statesman are being shared.
However, Raila’s last post on Facebook was of him celebrating the local football team, Gor Mahia FC, for their milestone.

The team’s management had visited him, where they gave him a jersey and spent some time with the politician.
“As the new football season kicks off, I had the pleasure of being briefed by Gor Mahia Football Club’s executive team, led by chairman Ambrose Rachier, on the club’s campaign plans for the season.
