Former president Uhuru Kenyatta has made a solemn vow to the former prime minister Raila Odinga during his state funeral at the Nyayo Stadium.

Speaking on Friday, October 17, Uhuru spoke highly of his friendship with the late political veteran, seemingly terming it cordial.

“Mine, my brother is to pray to God that he may help you rest in peace with others who fought for the country. I want you to know that we will remember you and promise to accomplish that which you couldn’t. Your family is now ours. We will continue taking care of them. We will stand with them at all times,” Uhuru said.
I am saying rest in peace, my brother. May God bless your family. May God comfort and give them strength. May God continue to bless Kenya, East Africa and the entire Africa at large,” he added.
