Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has warmed hearts after visiting Raila Odinga’s family hours after his emotional burial.

Raila, who died on October 15 in India, was laid to rest at Kang’o Ka Jaramogi next to his parents in Bondo, Siaya county. He was buried in 72 hours as per his wish.

Did Uhuru Kenyatta visit Raila Odinga’s grave?
On Monday, October 20, Uhuru visited Raila’s grave accompanied by Oburu Odinga and a few family members. Uhuru then visited Raila’s family at Opoda farm, where he was warmly welcomed with the goner’s wife, children and close relatives.
Kenyans applauded Uhuru for his kind gesture, describing him as a true friend to Raila.

How did Uhuru Kenyatta mourn Raila Odinga?
On Friday, October 17 during Raila’s state funeral at the Nyayo National Stadium, Uhuru spoke highly of his friend, sharing details of their close relationship.
He narrated how they would be treated to “uji” after their political activities, leaving mourners in stitches.
Uhuru, who referred to Raila as a brother, vowed to take care of his family.
A video of the former president in tears after visiting the goner’s family home in Karen after receiving the news of his passing on, broke hearts.
Uhuru was pictured comforting Raila Odinga’s widow, Mama Ida, and signed the eulogy book.
Was Raila Odinga feted at Mashujaa Day?
Earlier, TUKO.co.ke reported that during the October 20 Mashujaa Day celebrations held at Ithookwe Stadium in Kitui county Ruto posthumously awarded Raila Kenya’s highest honour, the Chief of the Order of the Golden Heart of Kenya (C.G.H).
Raila’s daughter, Winnie, was overjoyed by her dad’s award and took to social media to celebrate him, expressing her deep pride.
The former prime minister was also honoured through performances during the historic event.
Schoolchildren who were part of the entertainment team, moved Kenyans to tears with their poem and dance tribute to Raila.
