Real time of Jeff Mwathi’s death
This information was shared by an officer from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, who revealed that the time stamp on the CCTV from the ground floor was six minutes behind.
So, while it showed that Mwathi fell at 5:47 a.m., the actual time was 5:53 a.m.
Chief inspector Timothy Bett also shared that Mwathi’s fall was only captured by the camera on the ground floor of the apartment.
The CCTV analysis also showed that the deceased went down at about 59 minutes after DJ Fatxo had left the premises.
The two men captured, going back to the 10th floor, were Fatxo’s driver and cousin.

Jeff Mwathi’s fall
The CCTV from the ground-floor parking area showed the chilling moment when Jeff’s body landed, leading to his instant death.
During the cross-examination, the officer was asked to describe the position of the victim’s hands as he landed on the ground.
“The fall was at high speed. But now, while it is slowed down, the hands appear to be stretched out,” he responded.
He was asked whether the position of the upper limbs suggested that he was trying to find his balance after falling.
“His body fell downwards, and his front limbs were stretched out. Does that look like someone who has been pushed or someone who is trying to get a safe landing?” lawyer Swiga asked during the cross-examination.
Bett insisted that there was no way to make such a conclusion, being that his fall was at a supersonic speed.
“I cannot be able to tell,” he stated.
Where was DJ Fatxo when Jeff Mwathi died?
As earlier reported, a Nairobi beautician explained that on the same night of Mwathi’s death, Fatxo called her at 4am, asking for a hair cream he had ordered weeks earlier.
The beautician said it was the first time that Fatxo called her at 4am to ask for the product, adding that she found the call odd.
Jeff’s body would be discovered hours later on the ground floor of his apartment.
