The Ugandan music scene is in mourning after the sudden and tragic death of Afrobeat artiste Olivia Mildred Namubiru, alias Olisha M.

According to Big Eye UG, Olisha M died on Friday, 24, while giving birth at Nsambya Hospital in Kampala.
What happened to Olisha M?
The songstress was in her 30s and had become a well-known figure in East Africa’s entertainment scene because of her lively music and charming personality.
Olisha M became well known for her unique musical style, which combined traditional Ugandan rhythms with modern Afrobeat.
Her big hits, like Katambala, Gwenjagala, and Super Love, got her a lot of attention online and played heavily on local radio stations.
She ventured into more than just music; she was also involved in fashion and acting.
People often praised her for her bold style and expressive performances.
In 2024, she made headlines for her fancy traditional introduction ceremony, where she introduced her fiancé, Mutassim Nziorera, to her family and fans.
The couple had two children together. Her death during childbirth has not only broken the hearts of her family and fans, but it has also brought back public concern about maternal health in Uganda.
