Did Farouk Kibet attend ODM delegates’ meeting?

In a statement shared on his social media platforms on Saturday, October 25, Amisi seemingly implied that Farouk could attend an ODM delegates meeting.

He subtly questioned how Farouk could show interest in ODM politics when the former prime minister, Raila Odinga, is dead, yet showed no interest while he was still alive

“Farouk never attended any ODM events when Baba was alive. Why will he be quick to attend the first-ever post-Raila ODM delegates meeting? Your guess is as good as mine,” Amisi asked.

Amisi praises Raila’s leadership

Citing Raila’s prowess in leadership, Amisi stated that what made him stand out was that he never focused on either regional or tribal politics.

“What made Baba strong, believable and trusted by Kenyans that he would go left or right when he directed, was because he was a self-made politician, who understood all regions’ local politics. He was not a Luo leader but a national leader,” he stated.

Nuru Okanga recalls last conversation with Raila Odinga, says he appears in his dreams

He praised Raila’s ability to be accessible, as he never shied away from interacting with even those who opposed him

The former Prime Minister was known for always calling a truce with his opponents in presidential elections and agreeing to work together with them.

The last agreement he had with a sitting president was when he signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with President William Ruto to form a broad-based government.

“Could be accessed by all leaders on phone, was available, studied the art of war and 48 laws of power, could leave a coalition that is against the principles of democracy and run back to the bush to fight, could not be swayed by statehouse money and was never under external control,” Amisi added.

Did Amisi caution ODM leaders?

The political leader wound up his message by warning the current leaders about the magnitude of responsibility they bear after Raila’s passing.

He argued that the political veteran’s legacy could only be protected by progressive leaders.

“The new ODM leaders must keep this spirit or forever forget about leading the 20-year-old biggest party in the north of the River Limpopo and south of the Sahara desert. Parroting the loudest in press conferences and sleeping in Bondo around Baba’s grave is certainly not one of the qualifications. Shape up or ship out,” he added.
