A deep wave of grief has engulfed the Githurai community following the tragic death of 27-year-old boda boda rider Frankline Gatukui, who was brutally killed just 40 days after his wedding.

Frankline and Naomi exchanged vows on September 13, in a colorful ceremony at AIPCA Kiuu Church, a day filled with laughter, music, and promises of forever.

But barely six weeks later, that promise was cruelly cut short.

On the evening of October 20, Frankline was reportedly attacked and stabbed to death along the Githurai–Kasarani route around 5:20 pm.
The news of his death spread quickly through the community, leaving his family, friends, and fellow riders in shock and disbelief.
Over the weekend, mourners gathered for a requiem mass in Frankline’s honor. The ceremony began with a visit to the crime scene, where family and friends held a brief prayer service at 3 pm.
They then before proceeded in a somber procession to AIPCA Kiuu Church for the main service at 4 pm. The dress code was all black, symbolizing mourning, unity, and respect.
Church leaders, led by Bishop Peterson Njenga of the AIPCA Thika Diocese, joined the family in prayer, urging the authorities to move swiftly and ensure justice is served.
“We mourn a young man whose future was bright, whose heart was kind, and whose life was cut short too soon,” Bishop Njenga said.

He was ferrying a passenger, who happened to be his neighbour, but their journey was tragically cut short.
They became victims of a horrific accident that left their families shattered and confused, as netizens sent messages of consolation.
