He started as a gospel singer before crossing over to the secular world, where he managed to build an illustrious career.
With time, his clout-chasing videos, cross-dressing clips and music with explicit content left many criticising him.
Why is Bahati apologising?
He recently released a song dubbed Seti after a one-year hiatus, and Kenyans condemned him for promoting immorality.
“I have received many calls, messages from close friends, fans, pastors and even strangers since I made my musical comeback with Seti. And I did not want to reply to anyone based on emotions, because I respect you all. I am marking 10 years in the music scene, and I want to start by saying thank you for your support. It has kept me on top for all those years,” he said.
Bahati reminisced about his journey since he turned 18 and noted how tough it was to live without parents.
According to him, having never had a father figure, he is also trying out being a role model to his children and family.
“I was hoping that gaining a spot at the top would help me change my testimony. And God was faithful, my dreams came true. As a young person, I agree that I have made a lot of mistakes along the way. I have lost the way several times, and I have let down people who look up to me. To some point, I have lost your trust. And I understand. But I believe I have done my best as a young man who has grown in the public eye, subject to criticism,” he added.
What did Bahati say in his apology?
He also apologised to his fans and to God for his actions and noted that although he knows being a pastor is not his calling, should he be led to it, he vowed to follow the path.

“I apologise for all the times you feel like I do not act as a responsible father to my kids and those who follow me. I apologise for all the times you feel like I let Christianity down. But most importantly, to my father in heaven, the one who knows my heart, forgive me of my sins, I’m just a man, I have never left you God,” he added.
Bahati added that he wants God to do something publicly that will shut down his enemies and prove that he still has a relationship with Him.
He also shared another video in tears, noting how God has helped him and being remorseful.

What did Bahati tell Pastor T?
In a separate report, Pastor T recently came out to criticise Bahati and the vow he made to never leave God.
The man of God reminded him that his children may end up suffering due to the seeds he was currently planting.
Bahati responded with a clapback and told T that his children are the ones who will suffer, sparking reactions online.
