Nairobi, Kenya: Susan Kamengere, the nurse who was allegedly killed at the Chiromo Group, is finally going to be buried after three and a half months of being in the mortuary.

According to Westkago Jacque, a mental health counsellor, the middle-aged woman who was allegedly murdered in the prestigious mental hospital sadly died after strangulation.

On the day she died, it emerged that the husband allegedly asked the personnel at the hospital to go pick her up by force, inject her with unknown substances and then take her to the hospital by force.

A post-mortem carried out on her body revealed that she had been strangled to death, and many people were devastated by the news, including her family, who spoke emotionally at the Umash Funeral Home.

Although the family was keen on burying their sister, her husband took them to court seeking to bury her, but in the end, the case was ruled in their favour.

“A time has come to lay her to rest, and the funeral service will take place on Saturday, November 8, 2025,” said Westkago.

“In this regard, I humbly appeal to friends to support the family financially in covering the expenses,” she added.

What is the breakdown of Kamengere’s burial budget?

While at it, Westkago gave the breakdown of the budget that will be used in laying the beloved nurse to rest.

In the budget, the mortuary fees will cost KSh 156,500, Home preparation, tents, public address system, and outstanding legal fees will cost KSh 403,500, and the total budget will stand at KSh 560,000.

“We earnestly seek your prayers and support in kind to ensure the success of the funeral arrangements,” said the counsellor.

Another story revealed that Kamengere, the owner of Toto Touch, died at Chiromo Hospital Group, Braeside branch, and the DCI were going after the staff at the facility..

After the postmortem report, the police identified three persons of interest in Kemengere’s suspected murder..

CCTV clip from the hospital showed Njoki’s last movements from when she was admitted to when she was allegedly killed.
