Ajwang’ recently shared a touching tribute during his mother, Rose Otieno’s, memorial mass, where he revealed his challenging past.
Rose, who was a lecturer at Kenyatta University, died on October 30 after being sick for some time.
Ajwang shared how, after his father died in 2014, his life took a dark turn, where he got lost in alcohol and drug abuse.
How did Millie help Otieno Kajwang’s son?
He added that at some point, because of the life he was leading, he lost trust in his mum, but things turned around when he got saved in 2018.
At Rose’s burial, Millie, while addressing mourners, commended Ajwang’ for how he had turned his life around and remembered the journey they had walked.
“This boy told you he used to be an alcoholic, and he used to drink a lot. One of my brothers is also a political head, but alcohol gets him lost sometimes. Dun once came to my house and brought me this boy after his dad died. He told me, ‘Amillo, Kajwang’s son is getting lost, help him’. This boy was living in the slums, was drinking and losing his life. People thought I would use him in my political journey. These are my relatives and my friends. I took his phone and called TJ Kajwang. I told him to see how they can help this boy,” she said.

Is Kajwang’s son joining politics?
She narrated how she has also struggled with her brother, who is an alcoholic, so she knew what Kajwang’s family was going through.
Millie also vowed to hold his hand and hinted that Kajwang’s son might be joining politics someday.
“The prayers of his mother and his family in Kakamega are the reason he is standing today and speaking as a pastor. I thank God for you, and when I see you praising God, I am happy. He is winning souls for Christ. He will come, we do politics, and I will hold his hand, and teach him proper Dholuo,” she added.
