Why Manchester United played with 10 men
Interestingly, Manchester United were forced to finish the game with 10 men despite not getting a red card.
Benjamin Sesko went down injured after he failed to score a glorious chance. Sesko’s attempt on goal was thwarted by Micky van de Ven, but the Slovenian international remained on the turf.
After it became apparent that he couldn’t continue, he was withdrawn, but Ruben Amorim failed to bring on a replacement.
The reason is that United had at that time made all their five substitutions and thus, couldn’t make further changes.

The only time a team is guaranteed more changes is when a player goes down with a concussion. Given that Sesko’s injury appeared to be a muscle issue, United had to finish the game with one man less.
In a bid to stay on top of the game, Amorim had brought on Sesko, Manuel Ugarte, Lenny Yoro, Mason Mount and Diogo Dalot, exhausting all five substitutions available to him.
Luckily for the former Sporting Lisbon manager, Sesko’s injury didn’t affect them as De Ligt scored right at the end to ensure they got a point.
Amorim will now face an anxious wait to see if Sesko’s injury is serious. United’s next game will come against Everton after the international break, before they face Crystal Palace.
The result took Tottenham to third place momentarily, with a better goal difference ahead of the rest of the games this weekend. United are further down in seventh.
Ronaldo slams Manchester United.
In another report, Cristiano Ronaldo slammed Manchester United, accusing their lack of structure for their dwindling performances in recent years.
The former Real Madrid striker stated Amorim was doing his best, but doesn’t expect him to do miracles.
United haven’t won the league since 2013, during Sir Alex Ferguson’s last year in charge.
