City businessman Kennedy Rapudo has sparked reactions on social media after opening up about his relationship with his stepson, Gavin.

The drama began when Rapudo appeared on a podcast with media personality Dr Ofweneke, where he revealed that Gavin does not call him dad.
The revelation immediately sparked debate online, as Gavin lives in the same house as Rapudo and his mother, Amber Ray, and the trio appear to share a cordial relationship.
What does Gavin call his stepfather?
After Amber and her daughter with Rapudo won awards at a recent event, Rapudo collected them on their behalf.
Speaking to bloggers afterwards, he explained why the issue of Gavin calling him dad does not bother him.
“Gavin’s dad is present. For example, take my daughter Savani, I am a present father. I pay her school fees, provide for her needs, and spend time with her after school, even though her mother is married. How do you tell her to call the other guy dad and also call me dad? That would confuse a child,” he said.
He continued:
“Gavin is 15, and he spends time with his father. I have never met him, but sometimes he comes and picks him up, and they have a good time. I don’t want to replace that. Whatever name he calls me (he calls me Baba Africanah), and I am okay with that. As long as he is in my house, he is my son, but he doesn’t have to call me dad.”
Despite not caring about the title Gavin uses, Rapudo confirmed that he fully embraces his responsibilities as a father figure to him.
