Locals who noticed a suspicious smell raised the alarm and warned others, claiming it was the second time the man had been busted for the same offence.

They expressed concern about the safety of children who play in the area, noting that the fake juice appeared highly concentrated.

Geoffrey Mosiria warns hawkers
Meanwhile, Chief Officer for Environment Geoffrey Mosiria issued a stern warning to hawkers operating in Eastleigh over rising lawlessness.
He raised concerns about blocked roads, indiscriminate waste dumping, and the conversion of public spaces into open-air markets.
Mosiria emphasised that while small-scale traders are supported, their activities must remain within legal boundaries.
He condemned hawkers who clog drainage systems with garbage, contributing to flooding during rainy seasons. The environmental chief warned that such impunity endangers lives and disrupts essential services.

Meru man injected with poisonous substance
Elsewhere, Shadrack Muriira, a young man from Meru county, was brutally assaulted after being accused of stealing miraa.
He recounted how two men accosted him, took him to their house, undressed him, and injected a red substance into his private parts, allegedly to sterilize him.
The attack left him in excruciating pain and with persistent swelling. His family, who denied the theft allegations, said efforts to seek justice were futile.
Despite seeking medical help, Muriira’s condition remained worrying. The incident sparked outrage, with calls for authorities to investigate and hold the attackers accountable for the inhumane act.
