Kajwang and Rose were blessed with two children, a son and a daughter. During Rose’s memorial mass, family and friends spoke highly of her, with some even bringing back memories of her late husband.

The two children paid emotional tributes to their loving mother, with Akumu describing the latter as her best friend.
During her mother’s funeral on November 7, Akumu moved mourners to tears with her touching tribute.
“She was not just my mother. She was my best friend. We had a relationship that spanned two different approaches. She had such a big heart. My childhood was filled with joy, so much laughter…watching her in her space as she navigated her career and education… she was a wonderful woman and a mother to my friends today. We walked her journey to her final day together every single day. She was a strong woman and fought to remain here with us, but ultimately God called her before us. I thank God that I had the blessing to call her my mother, all the years that I had with her release her to go be with her Maker and join my father in heaven,” she emotionally said.
Akumu holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Manchester, UK and a Master of Laws in International Human Rights and Humanitarian Law from the University of Essex, UK.
What did Kajwang’s daughter wear to mum’s funeral?
Akumu wore a long, stylish black-and-white striped dress, a wide white hat, and black sandals. The hat covered her face, and she appeared to be struggling to see.
