The New York Post reported that a Russian Ka-226 helicopter crashed in the Republic of Dagestan on Friday, November 7.
Who died in the Russian helicopter crash?
Preliminary reports from the government officials indicated that five people, including four employees of the Kizlyar Electromechanical Plant (KEMZ), died in the accident.
The helicopter crashed near the village of Achi-Su in Russia’s Republic of Dagestan, located along the Caspian Sea.

KEMZ, a Russian defence company specialising in aviation equipment, published the names of those killed in the crash.
Among those who died in the helicopter crash is the plant’s deputy general director of construction and transport support.
How did the Russian helicopter crash?
Harrowing video footage emerged online showing the moment a Russian helicopter smashed into a pier and bashed its tail off.
After clipping off its tail, the helicopter then drifts along the Caspian Sea — possibly searching for somewhere else to land.
CCTV footage reportedly shows a Ka-226 helicopter crashing into a residential building and exploding.
How many people died in the Kwale plane crash?
In Kwale county, 11 people died after a light aircraft, with registration number 5Y-CCA, crashed in the Tsimba Golini area.
According to a statement issued by the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA), the ill-fated plane was on its way from Diani to Kichwa Tembo when the accident happened.
The grisly accident happened on Tuesday, October 28, at around 5:30 am.
KCAA director Emile N. Rao stated that government agencies had already arrived at the site to determine the exact cause of the accident.
Eyewitnesses reported that the plane burst into flames upon impact. Photos, believed to be from the scene, showed the wreckage engulfed in flames.

4 killed in Mwihoko plane crash
Previously, on August 7, a Cessna Citation 560 jet owned by the African Medical and Research Foundation (AMREF) crashed in Mwihoko, Kiambu county.
The fatal plane crash claimed the lives of four people. The aircraft, initially thought to be a military helicopter, was later identified as a Cessna Citation XLS jet with registration number 5Y-FDM.
According to investigations, the plane was found to have originated at Wilson Airport before losing communication with the control tower shortly before crashing.
Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) officers responded to the incident as residents gathered near the scene, trying to understand what had happened in their neighbourhood.
Eyewitnesses stated that the plane seemed to experience technical problems mid-air before exploding and crashing into residential areas.
