When did Mohamed Tupi Bidu die?
The Isiolo South lawmaker passed away on Wednesday, November 12, while receiving treatment at The Nairobi Hospital.
Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetang’ula announced the legislator’s death, describing it as a profound loss to Parliament and the nation.
“It is with profound sorrow that I inform you and the nation of the demise of our esteemed colleague, the Member for Isiolo South Constituency, Tubi Bidu Mohamed, MP, who has left us this evening, Wednesday, 12th November 2025, while receiving treatment at The Nairobi Hospital,” Wetang’ula said.
He joined parliament in August 2022 on a Jubilee Party ticket, serving his first term in the 13th Parliament.
Various leaders took to social media to mourn Bidu, many describing him as a dedicated leader.
How did politicians mourn Mohamed Tupi Bidu?
In his message, Saboti MP Caleb Amisi termed Bidu as a leader who served his people with humility and commitment.
“Deeply saddened by the passing of Hon. Mohamed Tupi, Member of Parliament for Isiolo South. A dedicated leader who served his people with humility and commitment. May Allah grant him eternal peace and comfort his family during this difficult time,” Amisi mourned.
Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale disclosed that Tubi died following a long illness.
“Today, our nation, and especially the people of Northern Kenya, mourn the passing of Mohamed Tubi, MP for Isiolo South, who succumbed after a long illness. Hon. Tubi was a respected elder and a dedicated leader who served his constituents with commitment and humility since his election in 2022. My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and the people of Isiolo South. “May Allah have mercy on him” and “May Allah grant his family patience”.

In September, a former Member of Parliament and celebrated marathoner passed away while receiving treatment at Eldoret Hospital.
Elijah Kiptarbei Lagat died on the morning of Tuesday, September 30.
Born on June 19, 1966, Lagat first entered parliament in 2007 on an ODM ticket, representing Emgwen constituency.
