Kasipul MP aspirant Boyd Were has strongly condemned a police raid at his family home that left three officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) injured.

The raid occurred days after two people were killed during a heated campaign in West Kamagak Ward ahead of the November 27 by-elections.
According to Boyd, approximately 10 police officers stormed the residence of his late father, former MP Ong’ondo Were, in an attempt to arrest five suspects linked to the recent brutal murders.

The suspects were reportedly hiding at the compound when a group of rowdy youths intervened, clashing with the officers and helping them escape after their successful arrests.
Boyd criticised the manner in which the raid was conducted, claiming that the officers failed to notify the family before entering the premises.
What happened when police raided Boyd’s home?
According to the ODM candidate, he had attended a meeting in Kosele with IEBC officials, fellow candidates, and security agents, including DCI officer Daniel Muhuhi, who left the meeting prematurely.
Upon returning home, he was met with chaos at the gate, where armed officers were running in different directions and gunfire was erupting within the compound.
“Around 10 police officers barged into our home and fired gunshots carelessly, without considering that children and residents were present. When we inquired, they said they were looking for someone. It was very unfortunate. Why didn’t they give us notice? We would have allowed them to search,” he said, expressing concern over the lack of coordination and the fear it instilled in residents.
Boyd questioned the competence of the DCI and urged security agencies to conduct thorough investigations to ensure that all individuals involved in the violence are held accountable.
“It was not fair at all because at the end of the day, they didn’t arrest anyone. The person they were looking for was not here,” he said.
The MP aspirant called the raid ‘theatrics’ as he referenced past incidents, including a daylight hacking that was reported but allegedly ignored by police.
Will Boyd Were support Philip Aroko?
While addressing their political rivalries, Boyd urged his opponent, an independent candidate Philip Aroko, to stop zoning and accused him of attempting to disrupt his rallies while portraying himself as a victim on social media.

“If they elect Aroko, I will support him fully. If they decide it is Boyd, they should also support fully,” he said, emphasising that he would accept defeat in the mini polls.
Meanwhile, Kasipul has gained notoriety for political violence, especially after the assassination of Boyd’s father.
Both Boyd and Aroko have traded accusations over the unrest witnessed during their respective campaign events, raising concerns about security and fairness in the upcoming by-election.
Did Kasipul aspirants visit Bruno’s family?
Meanwhile, the family of Bruno Ondoro, one of the men killed in West Kamagak, expressed deep disappointment over the lack of remorse shown by the implicated leaders.
Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Bruno’s uncle stated that the family would proceed to bury their son privately and continue seeking justice thereafter.
He also dismissed claims that they had rejected a KSh 300,000 donation from Governor Gladys Wanga, clarifying that no politician had visited their home since the tragedy.
