Bayo passed away on November 10 while receiving treatment at Kenyatta National Hospital.
Her health took a severe turn when she began bleeding while in bed and, despite her weakness, managed to reach her car and honk to alert neighbours.
How did Wajackoyah console Betty Bayo’s husband?
She was rushed to AAR Hospital, but her condition worsened. According to Shiro Wa GP, she initially faced delays in treatment due to a lack of funds, prompting him to pay KSh 260,000, while friends raised KSh 1.3 million.
Doctors later discovered a blood clot in her brain after she suffered a stroke. Betty was later transferred to Kenyatta National Hospital, where she sadly passed away two days later.
Her remains were later moved from the KNH mortuary to the KU morgue along Thika Road.
During a service at Blue Springs Hotel, family spokesperson Elder David Kigomo announced that the singer would be laid to rest on November 20 at Mugumo Estate, Kiambu Road, where she owned land.
The memorial service would be held at the Christian Foundation Fellowship Church, her place of worship. The family’s funeral budget stood at KSh 5 million.
Roots Party leader George Wajackoyah was among the politicians who visited the family.
A video shared on social media showed the politician dressed in an all-black suit and a red durag, while Tash wore dark trousers, a colourful shirt, and slip-on shoes.
Wajackoyah walked up to the widower and warmly embraced him before greeting other mourners gathered around.
Numerous Kenyans praised Wajackoyah for consoling Tash, saying it was a gesture he truly needed. Some even pledged to vote for him in 2027.

In other news, TUKO.co.ke reported that Betty suffered from acute leukaemia, a rapidly progressing type that required urgent treatment through chemotherapy, targeted therapy, or radiation, depending on severity and stage.
Leukaemia is a cancer that affects blood-forming tissues such as the bone marrow and lymphatic system.
It causes the overproduction of abnormal white blood cells that fail to function properly.
Although the exact cause remains unclear, both genetic mutations and environmental exposure contributed to its development. Symptoms include fatigue, infections, weight loss, and bruising.
