Sharon Chebet didn’t win hearts for her skill on the pitch alone, but for her beautiful gesture off the court.

The outstanding volleyball player showed she had not forgotten her other important role, motherhood.

Where was the KKK tournament held?

“During the KKK Tournament at Kipkelion East, I had the privilege of watching a remarkable team, Rovers, as they battled through the volleyball semi-finals. One of their standout players, Sharon Chebet, requested a substitution not because she was exhausted, but because she needed to breastfeed her child,” Kiprotich Marindany shared.

He captured the heartwarming moment Sharon sat on a plastic chair as she cradled her young one mid-competition.

With a smile on her face, showing how much she enjoyed spending time with her baby, she joyfully breastfed the little one.

Sharon sat far from the crowd that cheered on their teams as she carried out one of the most important roles of a mum to her bundle of joy.

“It was a deeply moving and powerful moment, a reminder of the strength, dedication, and resilience of women in sports.

Sharon returned to the court and continued to play exceptionally well, showing that motherhood and talent can truly go hand in hand,” he added.

Kericho footballer breastfeeds baby at halftime

In another heartwarming story from the same competition, a footballer also requested a substitution to breastfeed her baby.

Mercy Chepkoech Rono earned praise for her thoughtful gesture of taking care of her baby during the halftime break.

The 21-year-old carried out her motherly role with pride as she bonded with her baby during the breather.

While her teammates strategised for the second half, Chepkoech was busy caring for her seven-month-old baby.

Daktari Kelvin Kipchirchir Ufa noted that although Chepkoech was on maternity leave, she showed passion and commitment to both her career and motherhood.

Chepkoech, who earns her living as a salonist, returned to the pitch after feeding her baby, ready for the second half.
