Funeral meetings to arrange for Kikuyu gospel musician Betty Bayo are ongoing as mourners plan to give the artiste a befitting send-off.

The celebrated vocalist passed away on Monday, November 10, leaving her family, colleagues and friends shattered.

Her sudden demise at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) not only left a gap in her family but also in the music industry.

Meetings have continued to be held ahead of her burial on Thursday, November 20, at her property in Mugumo Estate, along Kiambu Road.

During these meetings, mourners took note of a woman who had been consistent in giving and showing up.

“Her name is Waitherero. She has consistently attended Betty Bayo’s funeral meetings since day one, travelling from Kayole to Roasters, Thika Road, every day. Waitherero has cheerfully contributed KSh 100 at each meeting, something that has been easily noticeable,” a Facebook post read.

Karangu Muraya gifts Waitherero KSh 5,000

The woman stood between two men, one being philanthropist and Kikuyu gospel singer Karangu Muraya.

She stood in the middle of the venue as mourners surrounded her, praising her dedication throughout.

They wanted to reward her selflessness and consistency, which encouraged many and touched hearts.

“Today, the chairman of the burial committee blessed her with KSh 10,000, while Karangu Muraya gave her KSh 5,000. Other contributions were also made to appreciate her, and Waitherero has now walked away with over KSh 20,000,” the post read.

The thoughtful gesture was warmly welcomed and celebrated by social media users, who were delighted by the kindness shown towards her.

Betty Bayo’s hubby Hiram Tash speaks

In another story, Betty’s husband, Hiram Gitau, also known as Tash, spoke during his wife’s memorial mass at their residence in Edenville.

It was the first time the widower had spoken since the passing of the love of his life.
