The politician’s daughter never moved from her father’s side ever since he travelled to India for treatment up until his death.
Her aunt Ruth Odinga was also by her brother’s side, and she narrated Raila’s final moments.

She also thanked him for being like a father figure in her life, describing a side most Kenyans did not get to see.
Winnie spoke with great strength during her father’s state burial, earning the admiration of most Kenyans.

Winnie Odinga narrates her father’s demise
In other news, Winnie rubbished rumours that circulated about how her father passed away.
Winnie revealed that her father died in her arms. According to the MP, Raila loved to exercise every morning.
On each day, he would add a couple of rounds to his routine, and on that day, he managed to do three rounds of exercise.
She asked Kenyans to be proud of her father since he died like a soldier.
Kenyans had previously learnt that it was Winnie who relayed the news of her father’s passing to President William Ruto.
She had called her uncle Oburu Oginga first before the president made the direct call to Winnie.
Ruto later narrated how he had to explain to Winnie why the delegation was travelling to Mumbai and why he asked Ruth to intervene and calm her.
