Pastor Kanyari has leaked a series of chats with his ex-wife, Betty Bayo, since Wednesday, December 19.

The preacher had a cordial relationship with the mother of his children, and she would inform him of their fees.
Did Kanyari pay his children’s school fees?
In another set of chats, Kanyari’s ex shared photos of school shoes his little son, Danny, needed. She revealed that it was KSh 3,500.
“Danny’s school shoes at KSh 3,500. Send to my M-Pesa I order,” she wrote.
In a follow-up chat, she questioned whether he had paid.
“Did you pay?” she asked him.
The chats showed a missed call from Bayo to the father of her children. Bayo also reminded him that he needed to buy some uniforms for their son.
“Hey, you forgot to pay for Danny’s uniform. He tore all of them,” she said.
Bayo also informed him about their daughter Sky’s school meeting.
“Sky is closing school this Friday. Kindly avail yourself because I will not be around,” she said.

The chats date back to 2022, and they elicited mixed reactions from Kenyans on social media.
A blogger, Martha Miano, criticised the pastor for failing to respond to Bayo’s chats.
“Let’s talk about co-parenting. This is a screenshot posted by Kanyari. I’m not sure which point he was trying to prove. Men, if the mother of your children has to go through this for you to pay fees, then you are a failure. If you have to be reminded again and again, even after blue-ticking her in things to do with fees or the baby’s needs, you have failed as a father.”

She opined that acknowledging receipt of their baby mama’s messages was important.
“And ‘worser’ failure if you have the capability, but you want to prove a point to the mother. Things women stomach for their children to eat and get fees. Simple, mature communication is good manners. Just acknowledge you have seen the message, you will respond in a day or two, you will send the money in a day, in a week, etc. If you don’t have money, you say it as well. I mean, it’s that simple,” she said.
