His phone went off in the same area where he was to deliver the item.
According to Muga, Olwal was sent on the errand by his wife, who sells phones online, after she got a customer.
“I do not know how much the phone cost. He was given the phone by his wife to deliver to South B after she got a customer online,” he recounted.
Upon arrival, the clients—two men—allegedly directed him to the fourth floor of a guesthouse apartment.
Why was Anthony Olwal killed?
A confrontation followed when Olwal demanded payment, after which he was reportedly tied up and killed. His body was later found hidden under a bed.
“They tied his legs, feet, and mouth and then hid the body under the bed before leaving. His wife is not even talking. Olwal never gets into clients’ homes, I don’t know how he was lured into the building,” Muga explained.

“The men left with Olwal’s phone. This delivery job is very risky. Olwal was demanding pay for the phone only for his life to be cut short. I have also escaped planned attacks while on duty. And mostly, the attackers target those delivering phones,” he added.
A postmortem was conducted at City Mortuary on Wednesday, November 19, though the results have not yet been released.
The incident sparked outrage among Kenyans, who are now calling for heightened security measures to protect delivery workers from similar attacks.

“I understand he is only offering delivery services but as a seller for bulky/expensive items you pay before delivery or you come and pick from the shop. Acha niitwe tu conman because of asking for payment upfront but as long as I have never conned anyone, it doesn’t bother me. Nowadays, customers are becoming scrupulous and cunning.”
