The news of her death was shared by their sister, Ruth Odinga, who mourned her as someone who died while in Christ.
While sharing the news, Ruth shared:
“It is with a heavy heart, but accepting the will of God, we announce the sudden passing of Beryl Achieng Odinga. Daughter of the Late Hon Jaramogi Odinga and Mama Mary Ajuma Oginga. Mother to Ami Auma, Chizi and Taurai. While we are deeply saddened by her demise and the immense void left in our lives, we take solace in the belief that she is safe in the Lord’s arms and are thankful for the invaluable gift of the time we were privileged to share with her and for the profound impact she had on all who knew her.”

Why did Beryl Achieng miss Raila Odinga’s burial?
Achieng and her daughters were not present at Raila’s burial, raising questions about her whereabouts. But her youngest son, Taurai, read her eulogy.
However, their eldest brother, Siaya senator Oburu Oginga, clarified while introducing her son, Taurai, that she was not okay.
The politician’s sister was out of the country, where she was also seeking treatment.
“Achieng is not able to come because she is a bit indisposed; she is bringing her eldest son, Taurel,” said Oburu.

What did Ruth say at Raila’s funeral?
Elsewhere, during Raila’s burial, his sister Ruth Odinga recalled how the opposition leader had breathed his last.
She shared that Raila was on his morning walk before he collapsed and was rushed to the nearby hospital.
According to Ruth, her brother fought so hard for the country, but not so many people appreciated his efforts.
She also vowed to keep his legacy alive and urged ODM Party members to be united rather than divisive.
