The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has announced the passing of its youngest board member.

According to NTSA management, Richie Munyao, born in 1987, served on the board of directors with distinction from 2023 until his death on November 21.
“On behalf of the board and management of NTSA, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of our beloved board member, Richie Munyao,” the authority said in a notice published by a local daily.

Did Richie Munyao make any contributions to NTSA?
NTSA noted that throughout his career, Munyao combined exceptional intellect with a strong moral compass, contributing significantly to both the road safety and audit committees.
The management praised his dedication to safer roads as a legacy that lives on in every life saved.
“NTSA has lost its youngest board member, and the road safety community a remarkable emerging leader. His dual authority, insight, and unwavering standards helped guide the board through key reforms.
“Munyao was a loving father to Charlie Muoki Munyao and son of Michael Munyao of Ecotrogen Technologies and Evelyn Munyao of Green & Gold Ltd. He was a special friend to Angela Muoki and brother to Steve Muoki Munyao and Natasha Nginya Munyao of Canada. He was also the beloved grandson of the late Mkeva Munyao and Susan Nginya Munyao of Miharoni and the late Philip and Christine Chege,” the notice added.

When will Richie Munyao be buried?
However, Munyao’s cause of death was not disclosed.
His friends and family will gather for prayers and funeral arrangements at Karura Community Chapel, off Limuru Road, on Tuesday, November 25, from 6pm.
The memorial service will also take place at the same venue on Thursday, November 27, at 2pm.
Later, as per the announcement, Munyao will be buried at his home in Nanyuki on Friday, November 28. His body is currently preserved at the Lee Funeral Home.

Kisumu woman representative Ruth Odinga confirmed the tragic news, noting the deep sorrow and immense void left by her demise.
She expressed solace in their faith and expressed gratitude for the time they shared and her contribution to their lives and to society.
Achieng’, however, lived a quiet life, away from the public eye.
The incident happened just weeks following the death of the former minister, who passed away while recuperating in India.
