Ruth Odinga has confirmed the death of her sister, Beryl Achieng, with a heartbreaking message online.

In her message, Ruth revealed that Beryl was a mother of three kids, namely Ami Auma, Chizi and Taurai.
She wrote:
“It is with a heavy heart, but accepting the will of God, we announce the sudden passing of Beryl Achieng Odinga. Daughter of the late Hon Jaramogi Odinga and Mama Mary Ajuma Oginga. Mother to Ami Auma, Chizi and Taurai. Sister to Senator Oburu Oginga, Rt Hon Raila Odinga, Akinyi Wenwa amongst others. Sister in law to Dr Anne Oburu, Dr Canon Ida Odinga, hon Tabu Osewe and Judy Oburu,” she wrote:
How did Raila introduce his sister?
Ruth added that although they were saddened by her demise, their family took solace in the fact that she was in the arms of the Lord.
“While we are deeply saddened by her demise and the immense void left in our lives, we take solace in the belief that she is safe in the Lord’s arms and are thankful for the invaluable gift of the time we were privileged to share with her and for the profound impact she had on all who knew her,” she said.
After her death, Kenyans unearthed a video from the day Raila introduced Beryl during a political rally.
Although she hailed from political royalty, Beryl rarely made appearances during her family’s political rallies.

Raila, while waiting for his sister to join him on the dais, revealed that she was Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s former classmate.
“Lady from Nyar Kang’o stand here. She was Kalonzo’s classmate,” he said.
In her speech, Beryl revealed that among her siblings, she was the only one who pursued her higher studies in Kenya.
“I will talk in English a bit. Today is a big day for us, the Odingas, and I felt I must talk. Amongst my colleagues here, everybody always says they don’t know me; they only know my sister Ruth and my sister Akinyi. I am proud to say that among my siblings, I am the only one who attended a university in Kenya. An introduction of myself. I know I have a lot of colleagues here. People I went to university with. Amongst them is Ida Odinga. I want to recognise James Orengo, and I want to recognise professor Anyang’ Nyong’o,” she said.
A section of Kenyans noted that she spoke just like her niece Winnie.
“She speaks just like Winnie,” one said.
What happened to Raila Odinga?
In other news, Raila passed away while receiving treatment in India.
The politician was accompanied by his daughter, Winnie, and his sister Ruth.
Winnie set the record straight about the events that unfolded the day her father passed away. She asked Kenyans to be proud of Raila, as he died like a soldier.
