Former prime minister Raila Odinga’s ‘granddaughter’ @furaha has penned a touching message to mourn her grandmother, Beryl Achieng, who succumbed to cancer.

Berly’s death was announced by her sister Ruth Odinga, who took to her Facebook page to share the heartbreaking news.
Her death came slightly over a month after Raila died in India, where he had travelled to seek urgent medical attention for a blood clot lodged in the brain.
How did Raila Odinga’s ‘granddaughter’ mourn Berly?
As friends and family continue to mourn with the Odinga family, Furaha shared different photos that she took with Beryl and Raila.
In one of the photos, she posed next to Beryl, who smiled in an all-green outfit and scurff. In another photo, Furaha was in tears.
She also shared photos of Raila closely staring at his sister in what looked like a photo-op moment with the family.

Did Beryl attend Raila’s funeral?
Beryl was notably absent from her brother Raila’s funeral at Kang’o Ka Jaramogi, and their brother Oburu Oginga noted where she was.
While introducing her son, Tairei, to read the tribute, Oburu revealed that Beryl could not make it to the funeral because she was sick.
Tairei also explained that her sisters were not present at the funeral before sharing how close Raila and his mum were.
A day ago, TUKO.co.ke also featured Raila’s daughter Winnie Odinga showing up at the Lee Funeral to mourn with Berly’s family.
She was captured consoling Tairei in a tight hug, which elicited moving messages from social media users.
