Taylor oversaw a controversial game at Stamford Bridge where both sides were forced to settle for a point.
Moises Caicedo was sent off by Taylor in the 38th minute after a reckless challenge on Mikel Merino.
Taylor had given Arsenal an advantage before circling back to give the Chelsea midfielder a yellow card. However, after a VAR review, the decision was upgraded to a red card.

“After review, Chelsea 25, makes a challenge with excessive force and endangers the safety of the opponent, therefore my final decision is red card.”
What rule did Anthony Taylor break?
The 47-year-old Mancunian has, however, been called out for breaking a VAR rule. Former Liverpool and Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge, agreed it was the correct decision but subtly criticised Taylor for allowing the VAR to re-ref the game, which is against why the technology was introduced.
“When you see it slowed down, it looks nasty. Initially the referee makes a decision to give him a yellow card. And they’ve re-reffed it. They’ve gone with VAR. When you see it slowed down it’s a red card. It’s not so bad in full speed,” he said on Sky Sports via The Mirror.
Anthony Taylor’s record vs Chelsea emerges
At the same time, it has emerged that Chelsea is the club that Taylor has booked the most in his career.
Taylor has been in the Premier League since 2010, and Chelsea is the club with the highest bookings-per-game in his record.
He has issued 129 yellow cards, two second-yellow dismissals and two straight red cards to Chelsea players in the 57 times he has taken charge of their games.
Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca agreed that Caicedo deserved to be sent off but called out the inconsistencies in the referee’s decisions.
“It’s a red card, but why was Bentancur’s against Reece not a red card when we were at Spurs away? So us, as a manager, we struggle to understand why they judge in different way,” he said via Football London.

Which clubs are Anthony Taylor not allowed to officiate?
Referees are always obligated to declare their allegiances so that they are not scheduled to officiate in some matches.
Taylor hails from Wythenshawe, Greater Manchester. He has no known allegiances, though it is believed he supports National League side Altrincham.
Why Arsenal were fined huge amount
In another report, Arsenal will be forced to pay a huge amount of money after their game against Chelsea.
The Gunners players were given a lot of yellow cards, which is against the Football Association rules.
They were fined last season after their 3-1 win over Liverpool.
