Among those most affected was her husband, Hiram Gitau, popularly known as Tash, whom she married after separating from Pastor Victor Kanyari.

Tash was last seen publicly during Betty’s burial in Mugumo Estate, visibly emotional as he mourned alongside her children, Sky Victor and Danivictor.

After several days of silence, he resurfaced on Sunday, November 30, at the official song release party of gospel singer Ngaruiya Junior at the Mark Hotel along Thika Road.

Dressed in full black and seemingly still in mourning, he addressed the guests and occasionally broke into a smile.

He recalled how he became close friends with Ngaruiya during his relationship with Betty and praised him and other gospel artistes for supporting the family, from Betty’s illness, blood transfusions, and even during burial arrangements.

The widower also touched on the recent attention he has received online, joking about his unfamiliarity with social media.

“I am not a person who is usually online. Even the things I recently started seeing there made me feel like I am a form one student, but I am hanging in there. I think I will look for Karangu Muraya to give me some classes to know how people survive there,” he quipped, seemingly referencing the ongoing custody debate over Betty’s children.
