The preacher was speaking during a sermon at his church as he addressed his relationship with his children, Sky Victor and Danivictor, whom he shared with his late ex-wife, gospel singer Betty Bayo.

What did Kanyari say about DeMathew’s family?

During the sermon, Kanyari questioned why discussions about the custody of his children had become such a heated public debate, with many seemingly opposed to him, as their biological father, taking them in.

He then compared his situation to what transpired after DeMathew’s passing, noting that despite the Mugithi icon being polygamous and equally famous, custody conversations around his children had not been as contentious.

The preacher went further, making negative remarks about the lifestyle of one of DeMathew’s widows, suggesting it was unfit for children.

His comments caused an uproar online, prompting DeMathew’s second wife, Carolyne, to publicly call him out.

In response, the Salvation Healing Ministries preacher issued a lengthy apology on social media.

Did Carolyne DeMathew accept Kanyari’s apology?

In a new twist, Carolyne took to social media, stating she would not accept Kanyari’s apology.

She shared that she was going about her usual day when she realised she was trending, only to learn about the preacher’s comments.

According to her, the mere mention of the name DeMathew in a negative light immediately harms her and her children.

“Whenever the name DeMathew is mentioned, it affects and wounds me deeply because he was my husband, father to my kids, and the name Carolyne DeMathew is my brand, my source of income,” she wrote, emphasising that she has spent the last five years building her brand.

Carolyne dismissed Kanyari’s claims about the lifestyle of either of DeMathew’s widows, insisting she works tirelessly to support her family.

“I owe no one an explanation about how I make ends meet because I borrow from nobody. I work like a donkey to make ends meet, and then Prophet Kanyari, for you to come and tarnish my name on social media, that has really broken me,” she said.

She further refuted claims that she has remarried multiple times since DeMathew’s passing, stating she has remained single.

“You have tarnished my name and brand because that is what gives me my daily bread. Apology not accepted,” she concluded.
