Kisii – A clear CCTV footage has emerged capturing the exact moment a Kisii Member of Parliament assaulted a man.

In the distressing footage shared by Citizen TV, the victim, identified as Omariba Moriasi, was seated at a restaurant, enjoying a meal on Thursday, November 27.

At what time did Kisii MP assault a man?

In the footage, the Kisii MP entered the hotel dressed in jungle green trousers, a black jacket, and a mask at 8.49am.

The footage captures the lawmaker pointing and seemingly shouting at Moriasi, who was wearing a white t-shirt and a red cap.

In a split second, the Kisii MP is seen kicking and assaulting the man by kicking him in the chest and grabbing the man by the neck.

The confrontation prompted staff and other customers to rush in and attempt to separate the two.

The lawmaker continued his assault, punching Moriasi to the floor despite attempts to restrain him. The footage also shows the MP slapping another customer who intervened.

Why did MP assault Kisii man?

Speaking to Citizen TV, Moriasi claimed the lawmaker assaulted him over an alleged love triangle.

He revealed that the vocal lawmaker attacked him over claims that he was having an affair with his girlfriend.

“He stormed over to me, shouting that I must respect him and accused me of having an affair with his girlfriend. Then he began beating me,” Moriasi said.

Moriasi’s lawyer, Benard Atancha, questioned why the MP had not been arrested despite the complaint being filed on the same day at Kisii Police Station.

“We have followed all the procedures, yet the police have not arrested the individual who assaulted my client with unknown people at joint in Kisii Town,” said Atancha.
