A beautiful moment unfolded at the National Police College in Embakasi, Nairobi, when President William Ruto arrived to assist a police officer and her family.

He carefully and delicately cradled her baby in his arms as they walked from the makeshift home to the new apartment.
The policewoman held her son’s hand as she walked alongside the head of state, who made small talk as they went along.

Her husband accompanied them, carrying a bag, with excitement clearly visible on his face.
How many houses will government build for police officers?
Upon entering the fully furnished apartment, the woman, all smiles, welcomed Ruto inside. He sat on the couch, still holding the infant.
“So, you now have a new home! Oh my goodness, I am so happy that this morning you’re moving from a uni-hut to a house. This is exactly what we envisioned under the affordable housing programme. We have a programme for institutional housing,” said the president.
He explained that his government had committed to building 17,000 houses for police officers across the country.

He acknowledged that many of these were at various stages, with some already completed, while others were still awaiting clearance.
“We’ve already handed over houses in Chuka, Meru, and I’m told there are many more that are ready. We should allow officers to move in. There are also some in Langas, Eldoret, and I will instruct that they be made available,” he added.
The head of state shared a cup of tea with the policewoman’s family and engaged in light-hearted conversation as they enjoyed the comfort of their new, much more spacious home.
He was also heard telling the woman’s husband, “Nitakupanga”—a phrase that typically means “I will help you” or “I’ll sort it out.”

“This guy, Mr Mureithi, has used this rare opportunity very wisely. Even the president has said he will help him. Some opportunities are incredibly rare, and when they pass us by, it’s often too late.”

Did Ruto pay Murang’a woman’s medical bill?
In other news, TUKO.co.ke reported that the president contributed KSh 2 million to assist a musician’s family with medical bills.
The funds were meant to help the wife of Kikuyu Benga musician Kamande wa Kioi receive medical care after she was admitted to Nairobi West Hospital.
Ruto stepped in after the Social Health Authority (SHA) managed to pay KSh 1.5 million, leaving a balance of KSh 2 million.
