Arsenal and Chelsea walked into match week 13 as the leaders on the table, making their contest at Stamford Bridge an enticing one.
It didn’t disappoint as the two London rivals battled out to a point apiece in a feisty contest in West London.
Trevoh Chalobah opened the scoring for 10-man Chelsea, but Mikel Merino restored parity shortly after.

The result left Chelsea six points behind the leaders, but they dropped to third place after Manchester City beat Leeds United.
Phil Foden starred for Pep Guardiola’s side as they beat a resilient Leeds United. City threw away a two-goal lead, but Foden scored in stoppage time to win the game for City.
They are now in second place with 25 points, five behind Arsenal.
Supercomputer predicts final Premier League table
Opta’s supercomputer has still backed Arsenal to end their Premier League trophy drought and win it this season.
The Gunners have been given a 79.14% with Manchester City a distant second with 11.3%.
“That’s the feeling that we have, and the standards that we set for ourselves. Probably it’s because of the spirit, the hunger and how much they want it, that it’s so incredible we’ll overcome everything. So many things have happened, but we have to prepare very well for Wednesday, and try to be better than Brentford,” said Arteta via Arsenal’s website.

Chelsea are third with 4.08% while Aston Villa’s recent resurgence has seen them get into fourth place with 1.90%
“For sure, the effort of the players. Arsenal are top of the Premier League, top of the Champions League, the best defence in the Premier League and the best defence in the Champions League. When it was 11 vs 11, we were better than them. Ten men changed the dynamic, but the effort from the players was outstanding,” said Maresca.
On the other end, Leeds United, Burnley and Wolves have been projected to go down.
The next match week will begin on Tuesday this week. Chelsea will be away at Leeds United, while Arsenal will host Brentford. Manchester City will be away at Fulham.
Why Hincapie wasn’t sent off against Chelsea
In a different story, Piero Hincapie was lucky not to be sent off against Chelsea despite an elbow on Trevoh Chalobah.
The Arsenal defender left his Chelsea counterpart with a swollen eye but was only booked for the foul.
The incident came shortly after Caicedo had been sent off.
