As preparations are underway to bury Raila Odinga’s sister Beryl, tragedy has once again struck the family.

Beryl will be buried on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Kang’o Ka Jaramogi in Bondo, Siaya county.
The family, led by Raila Odinga Junior, confirmed the burial details and noted that the decision was made with the approval of Siaya senator Oburu Oginga.
A memorial service is scheduled for Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Consolata Shrine in Westlands.
Beryl, who passed away on November 25, 2025, at the age of 78, had battled a prolonged illness.
She was married to the late Otieno Ambala, a former MP for Gem, who passed away in 1985.
Who is Adongo Ambala?
As preparations are underway to give her a befitting send-off, it has emerged that her stepdaughter has also passed away.
According to the obituary in a local daily, Adongo Ambala passed away on Friday, November 21, 2025.
“It is with profound sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the sudden passing of Adongo Ambala,” the obituary read.
Adongo was employed by the county government of Kisumu.
The deceased was the daughter of the late Gem MP, while her biological mother was Nancy Ambala.
Adongo was a mother of three children, Iris Apiyo, Sophie Adongo, and Finn Okello.
“She was the stepdaughter of the late Perez Ambala and the late Beryl Odinga.”
Family and friends are meeting daily for prayers and to make burial arrangements at the family home in Chulaimbo, Kisumu.
When is Adongo Ambala’s burial?
Adongo’s memorial service will be held at St. Stephen’s Cathedral in Milimani, Kisumu, on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at midday.
“This will be followed by an overnight vigil at the family home in Chulaimbo.”
Adongo will be buried on Friday, December 5, 2025, at the family home, a day before Beryl’s send-off.
A Facebook influencer shared the heartbreaking news while lamenting the deaths in the Odinga family.

Raila’s daughter, Winnie, was seen consoling her cousins, sharing an emotional moment with Beryl’s children, particularly her son Tairai.
The heartfelt exchange between Winnie, dressed in a green t-shirt and matching hat, and Tairai, in blue denim, touched many, prompting an outpouring of condolences from netizens.
