Gospel musician Betty Bayo’s brother, Edward Mbugua, has broken his silence following his sister’s passing.

Barely weeks after laying the gospel musician to rest, family wrangles have erupted, with Mbugua lifting the lid on the drama ensuing behind the scenes.

What did Betty Bayo’s brother share?

Mbugua took to his TikTok account to claim that the family did not have access to their nephews and nieces.

He also noted that they only acknowledged Pastor Victor Kanyari as the father of Sky and Danny and that he should have full custody.

Bayo’s brother claimed that the bond Kanyari shared with the kids extended to the extended family.

“Kanyari is the biological father to Sky and Danny and we share blood with Kanyari. Bayo united us through those two kids na huwezi tugawa watoto na mali we are the family of Bayo, and Kanyari is the father,” he said.

Mbugua revealed that the bond he and his sister shared was deep, and over the years, he had been part of the investment plans she made.

He revealed that he wanted his sister’s assets to be placed under his niece and nephew.

“I want everything that belongs to my sister to be put in one place because the kids are growing, and these are their mother’s assets, and there is no discussion,” he said.

Was Betty Bayo legally married to Tash?

Mbugua further alleged that Bayo’s widower, Hiram Gitau, aka Tash, had not officially married his sister.

While responding to a Kenyan advising him that Tash should take ownership as the official husband of the late musician, he hinted that they were not married. The Kenyan said:

“Inheritance is another thing altogether. If Betty did not write a will, Tash will inherit everything, as he is the legal husband. For the children, maybe the court will grant custody to their biological father hence the move to court.”

Mbugua responded

“Everything is with the next of kin, and things are slowly coming to light. No one married anyone anywhere. It never reached that point; it was just a celebration. If you know how ruracio rituals there was none there and I was there.”

His revelations raised eyebrows on social media.

Was Betty Bayo’s family aware of her illness?

In other news, Mbugua also claimed that he did not know about his sister’s illness apart from the mild headaches and a runny nose.

He also added that there was no indication that his sister was seriously ill.

Mbugua noted that his family was not aware that Bayo was seriously ill, which sparked mixed reactions on social media.
