KRA announced the vacancies in an advertisement on the Government Advertising Agency (GAA) on Tuesday, December 2, 2025.

The vacant positions are deputy commissioner – policy, quality assurance and international affairs, deputy commissioner – cargo scanning and monitoring and deputy commissioner-revenue monitoring.

The taxman encouraged interested and qualified applicants to submit their academic and professional certificates through the PKF recruitment portal.
“KRA is seeking to recruit results-oriented, self-driven, dynamic and experienced individuals with high integrity to fill the positions of deputy commissioners. Interested candidates are requested to visit the PKF website for the full job description and specifications and submit online applications by Wednesday, December 24, 2025,” the advertisement reads.
What are the requirements for KRA jobs?
1. Deputy commissioner – policy, quality assurance and international affairs
The jobholder shall be responsible for the coordination, execution, interpretation and review of customs laws, rules, policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of social sciences, business, or pure and applied sciences.
- Applicants who have a master’s degree in a relevant field will have an added advantage.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience, five of which should be in senior and/or middle management levels.
2. Deputy commissioner, revenue monitoring, Nairobi and other regions
This post is responsible for establishing and monitoring the execution of policies, strategies and procedures for customs revenue mobilisation and administration within Nairobi and other regions.
Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of social sciences, business, or pure and applied sciences.
- Applicants who have a master’s degree in a relevant field will have an added advantage.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience, five of which should be in senior and/or middle management levels.

3. Deputy commissioner, cargo scanning and monitoring
The jobholder will oversee cargo scanning and monitoring operations.
Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of social sciences, business, or pure and applied sciences.
- Applicants who have a master’s degree in a relevant field will have an added advantage.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience, five of which should be in senior and/or middle management levels.
What will successful candidates present?
The recruiter noted that successful candidates must submit a tax compliance certificate and other clearance certificates.
“Successful candidates will be expected to present a valid tax compliance certificate from KRA,” it stated.
Other certificates shall be obtained from EACC, the DCI, CRB and HELB.
