On Thursday, 4 December, Sandra confirmed Bilal’s death, revealing that he had suffered complications due to diabetes. She shared a video showing her helping him to stand, as he was unable to do so on his own because of his weight, and the two shared a light-hearted moment.
Sources told TUKO.co.ke that Bilal fell into a diabetic coma.
Sandra paid tribute to his talent, describing him as a remarkable actor and a significant loss to Kenya’s film industry.

She also announced that his burial would take place on Friday, 5 December, at his family home in Machakos, following Muslim customs.
Amid it all, a video from September resurfaced, showing Dacha taking Bilal to a weight loss clinic.
Dacha began using Ozempic to aid her slimming journey. By January, she had already lost 17 kg since starting the medication in August 2024. Starting at 152 kg, she had reduced her weight to 135 kg, gradually losing around a kilogram per week, aiming for 115 kg.

The video shows the two at the clinic, engaging in conversation.
Bilal wore a blue t-shirt and jeans and used a walking stick. The clip then showed him speaking to a woman, seemingly the clinic officer, before being admitted into a procedure room.
He lay on his back and laughed as an injection was administered into his arm, although it was unclear whether it was an Ozempic shot.
In the caption, Dacha welcomed him to the clinic and encouraged other men seeking to lose weight to follow suit.
“Wababa eeeeh? Wababa aaaaah! This is your chance if you want to lose weight. Welcome, my long-time friend and colleague,” she wrote.
Another video showed them exercising before the doctor walked in. She encouraged them to eat.
“Weight loss doesn’t mean cutting out all your favourite foods — it means learning how to enjoy everything in balance,” the caption read.
