The media industry has been thrown into mourning following the sudden death of veteran radio presenter, Festus Amimo.

The presenter of the Mayienga FM morning show and the station’s head passed away in the early hours of Sunday, December 7.
A colleague who spoke to TUKO.co.ke on condition of anonymity confirmed he collapsed and died.
How did Mayienga FM mourn Festus Amimo?
Mayienga FM confirmed his death in a social media post and described his passing as shocking.
“Breaking news: Mayienga FM mourns head of station, Festus Amimo. It is with profound shock, deep sorrow, and heavy hearts that we announce the untimely passing of our Head of Station, Festus Amimo WA,” Mayienga FM announced on Facebook.
It should be noted that Amimo was the chairman of the Jofwambo Welfare Association
According to details revealed by the association, Amimo’s remains are currently at the Nairobi Funeral Home.
“It is with great shock that I convey to you the sudden demise of our chairman, Festus Amimo. As we continue to absorb this shocking news, I ask that we all commit his family, colleagues and ourselves in prayers. Jakom’s remains are at Nairobi Funeral Home, private wing. We are making arrangements in consultation with the family and his employer, Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC), to transfer him,” read a statement from Jofwambo Welfare Association.

When did veteran broadcaster Sammy Lui die?
Separately, Sammy Lui Wangondu, a legendary voice in Kenyan broadcasting and longtime State House master of ceremonies, died on Thursday, October 23.
According to a message from his son, Chris Wangondu, his father died peacefully in the morning.
