What is the weather outlook for next 7 days?
However, the weatherman pointed out that some areas in six regions will receive rainfall between December 9 and 15.

“Most parts of the country are likely to be sunny and dry. However, occasional rainfall is expected in a few areas in the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Rift Valley, the Coast, the Northeastern and the Southeastern lowlands,” Kenya Met said on Tuesday, December 9.
In the next seven days, daytime average temperatures of more than 30°C are expected in the Coast, Northeastern and North-western Kenya as well as over some parts of the Southeastern lowlands, the Rift Valley, and the Highlands West of the Rift Valley.
Meanwhile, night-time (minimum) average temperatures are expected to be less than 10°C in some parts of the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Rift Valley and in the vicinity of Mt Kilimanjaro.
Which counties will receive rainfall for next 7 days?
1. The Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin and the Rift Valley
The counties in these regions include Nandi, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Siaya, Busia, Baringo, Nakuru, Trans-Nzoia, Uasin-Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, West-Pokot, Kisii, Nyamira, Kericho, Bomet, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori and Narok.
In these counties mainly sunny intervals are expected during the day, with partly cloudy conditions at night. But there is a chance of afternoon and night showers occurring over a few places.
2. Northwestern Kenya
In Turkana and Samburu counties, the weather will remain sunny during the day, with partly cloudy conditions at night.
3. The Highlands East of the Rift Valley

The counties in this region are Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka-Nithi and Nairobi.
In these counties, mornings are expected to be cloudy, with a possibility of light rain over a few places, giving way to sunny intervals. Occasional afternoon and night showers are likely over a few places.
4. Northeastern Kenya
In Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa and Isiolo counties, sunny intervals are expected during the day, with partly cloudy conditions at night.
The weatherman said there is a possibility of morning rains and afternoon showers occurring over a few places.
5. The southeastern lowlands
In Machakos, Kitui, Makueni, Kajiado and Taita-Taveta counties as well as the inland parts of Tana River county, sunny intervals are expected during the day, with partly cloudy conditions at night. However, occasional morning, afternoon and night showers are likely over few places.
6. The Coast
The weatherman indicated that in Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu and Kwale counties as well as the coastal parts of Tana River county, sunny intervals are expected during the day, with partly cloudy conditions at night.
The forecast showed that there is a chance of morning, afternoon and night showers occurring over a few places.
What are safety measures during heavy rainfall?
In a previous incident, the Kenya Met issued an advisory that was set to assist Kenyans in the regions set to experience heavy downpour.
The first measure was that residents should ensure that they do not drive in moving water, stating that it would put their lives in danger.
Secondly, residents were advised against standing under trees, near grilled windows or in moving water to minimise the risk of being struck by lightning.
